Lorretta E. Greene, wife of Martin L. Greene, Sr was welcomed home on February 4. 2019. She was born in Lancaster, PA on April 29, 1939 to the late Charles Curry and Florence Martin (Curry). She graduated from Kennett High School.
Upon entering the job market, she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for Special Education students. She attended Penn State for this position. Her final career move was working as a Dental Assistant for Kennett Dental. While employed at Kennett Dental, she obtained her Dental Assistant Certification at Harcum College.
Her primary joy came from her family. The family was active in the Star Bethlehem
U.A.M.E during their formative years. Lorretta supported her husband with his civic activities, ranging from the Self-Help Housing, local NAACP, PTA and the Avon Grove School Board. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader in all of their civic and sporting activities. She loved to dance and travel.
Lorretta was the mother of three children, Martin L. Greene, Jr. of Pottstown, PA, Robin C. Greene-Toler of Chesterbrook, PA and Jeffrey A. Greene of Bellefonte, PA. She has eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her sister Arnetta Imes and nephew Charles Imes of Philadelphia, PA.
